Even when disallowing skyp to control the sound panel the mic seems not to work in meego. Under ³settings² in meego, it should pulseaudio server as input and output (same as fedora) but for some reason meego is not handling the mic although it does handle audio output perfectly ok.

I cannot remember now whether Meego uses alsa ( not at meego computer now) but if it does you can then use Alsa to sort your mic settings.
