Tinymail, being derived from Evolution's back end, supports the same
option. I'm not sure if it's exposed in the Modest UI.

To be honest, I've only ever used Pine (or Alpine) for mail on Maemo. It
makes _very_ efficient use of a small touch screen, and by enabling the
mouse-in-xterm mode you get to tap on menu options, to navigate folders,
and to open mails in the folder indices, etc.
