Hello,

I'm trying to bring MeeGo to a iMX35 processor based board. The iMX35 is an Arm11 (ArmV6).
There is a subderivate (iMX356) that has a Z160 OpenVG 1.1 core.

Now I'm reaserching wether MeeGo will run on this processor. I heard some contradicting opinions if its possible to run MeeGo without OpenGL/ES. I even read from a Nokia Senior Engineer that said it's not possible to run MeeGo without OpenGL/ES.

I know that there are currently some problems concerning mcompositor etc if not using hardware graphics acceleration. Also there might be some code in MeeGo-Touch as I heard from an Intel developer.

But is it still possible to use MeeGo without graphics acceleration? And would it be ok just to use OpenVG?
Or would that also be too "less" :-)

I think that I'm aware that there has to be some adaption in mcompositor or some other parts. But how "critical" is this?

meego requires opengl or opengles to be there.

this is one of the things that are part of the core architecture and one of the things we promise applications that they can depend on.

so sorry, no, if your hardware only does openvg, you can't run MeeGo on it.

you can maybe run a subset of the packages, but it's not "MeeGo" anymore.
