Gypsy already supports usb/serial gps devices and even bluetooth.  Geoclue
owns the configuration for associating a device with gypsy.  Take a look
in its configuration files and man pages.  You can also setup and test
gypsy by hand by using qtdbusviewer for example (installed from
qt-tools-devel iirc).

I'm not sure how to setup navit to use gypsy, but navit does have a
mailinglist and an irc channel on freenode (#navit) which will have more
people who know more about navit specifics.
