I don't actually see it as a transition, but as one more supported
architecture.  Instead of i386 and arm, we have i386, arm-sfp, and
arm-hfp.

Or in other words, the difficult part is not supporting hardfp, the
difficult part is dropping support for softfp.  So maybe we can have
hardfp without dropping support for softfp.

[ I have no clue whatsoever how compliant 3rd party applications are
  supposed to deal with multiple architectures...  Does an app need to
  exist for all architectures to be compliant?
