"Upstream first", right? This problem seems be more common in MeeGo than what would be acceptable. Linaro has a strict "only integrate patch if it goes into upstream, too" policy. If a patch fails to be integrated into upstream for a certain period of time, it *needs* to be removed again. This creates pressure to actually work upstream.
