Graeme,
I know they will want emissions test, brake test (done by engineer on
racetrack) and "lanechange" test (basic slalom - also done by engineer on
racetrack). I think I will also need some sort of strength test for the
seats I've fitted.
Sucks. I don't think the engineers are to blame - it's the bloody Road
Transport wankers. Apparently a 1600 with half decent brakes and anything
other than standard suspension with well worn ball joints will absolutely
blitz these tests anyway. So as far as I'm concerned it is just a matter of
handing over another fat wad of cash for absolutely no gain.
Happy as...
PL

Geez!!! thats expensive for an engineers report.
I was quoted $280 just yesterday... then again it is in Sydney. Last time
I needed an engineers report, it cost me $150.
I don't believe that an emissions test will be required, and a chassis
stiffness test is definitely not required. (not unless you cut the roof off
or do some other radical body modification.)
I the past my engineer has just taken the car for a serious blast around
the streets for half an hour, then a quick look over and under the the car.
Graeme.
