If you can get your hands on an old clobbered datto gearbox, cut off the
input shaft and use it as a alignment tool.
If you have enough experience, do it by touch. I used to do my RX4 by
feeling
the distance from the edge of the clutch plate to the edge of the pressure
plate
with my fingers, and make sure that it feels like the same distance at each
bolt hole. It worked for me many times. You have to take your time and not
rush
it though.
