I have a similar problem. I found it to be lack of buzz as Derek suggests. I
actually fixed it while fixing another problem, which was the inability of the
alternator to charge while running heaps of stuff (radio, heater, lights, wipers,
fuel pump, thermo). I fixed it by unplugging the thermo because it was incorrectly
wired with no relay (dodgy I know) and was chewing 2/3volts!! thank god it is
winter. got to get a relay in there by summer :)
