Wayne,

I went through the same thing with my 1600 Rally car. We started with
the standard loom & removed it from the car totally with all plugs
marked either what they are used for & if not used marked to remove. We
then laid it out on the floor, removed all the wrapping tape & cut out
anything that wasn't used & replaced anything that looked messy with
good clean wiring then rewrapped it & put it back. It all worked a
charm. We also replaced the dashboard at the same time & this was
simplified with the new loom. It make the engine bay look heaps cleaner.
