Hi all, First off, apologies if I'm asking this in the wrong place. But I'm desperate and I figured the wiring etc. might be simliar to the 240 Z... The Car: Orignal straight 6 1978 Datsun/Nissan Skyline. The problem: I turn the ignition switch around to the starter motor, and the starter motor starts up and the engine fires first go. I then release the switch, back to the ingition position, and the engine cuts out. If I do it again, but this time hold the switch and slowly move it back to the ignition position, I get to a point where the starter motor cuts out and the car is running without a problem. If I keep moving the switch back, the engine cuts out just before it clicks into the ignition position. I do have the ingition lights on the dash however. My first assumption was that a contact within the ignition switch had deteriorated, but the switch has since been replaced with a new one (sourced from Nissan) and the problem is still occuring. Anyone have any thoughts on what might be causing this, or where to start looking?? regards, Matt. -- 'sapientia potestas est' ____________________________________ Matthew Pegg Ballarat, Australia ____________________________________ --membersozdat------------------------------------------------------- OZDAT Mailing List Please Note:- Send (un)subscribe requests to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Send submissions to [EMAIL PROTECTED] No unauthorised redistribution of this email http://www.datascribe.com.au/ozdatonline/index.htm http://www.datascribe.com.au/ozdatonline/listindex.html http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------
