by the sound of that i would just sell the car now and cut your losses!
I would pull of all the covers surrounding the problem parts and have a
good look at what's happening with the levers (or what's not happening) may
just need lubing (crc) of a complete lever set (second hand) get the heater
recored at a radiator shop ( a good one ) and if you want the dash
recovered a place in melboure does it ( I can get the number for you)
