Well as yesterday was a rare warm sunny winter day and uni deadlines can always
wait, I took the car for a nice long spin up through the Adelaide Hills.
I found the car when travelling at speeds over 70 and 80 kms started to feel
quite 'floaty'.
I also found that through some long sweeping corners at moderate speeds, if
I gave the steering wheel a bit harder jerk in the direction of the corner,
the car would feel 'floaty' aswell, reminded me of a flat tyre on the pushbike.
I thought this might have been tyre pressure so cranked them up so about 36
and no difference.
Is this something to do with the rear toe-in being distorted by the lowered
rear end? I have heard this is related to high-speed turn in or something.
I have 15s and 50-series tyres so there can't have been much tyrewall flex there.

Think I might have to slot the x-member? Would be good for rear end traction
aswell, after seeing at the track day lots of 1/2 tyre skid marks from camber
cutting down the amount of rubber on the track.

Can I get your ideas for what to do about it? I would prefer the car to be a
lot more stiff and solid feel. I don't mind if it's getting knocked around alittle
by the bumps, as long as it's not drifting out from underneath me in corners
(like the floaty feel)!
