Chris,

185/65R14 do 915 revs per mile, which will increase the revs over stock by
~2.5% which surprised me too - they're virtually do the same rpm as
195/50R15 so the mph/1000rpm/4th gear = 17.7 or 28.5 kph. A genuine 60mph is
~3400 rpm or 100 kph is 3500 rpm with a 3.7:1 diff ratio.

Some other data for popular tyre sizes & diff ratios for comparison:

Size rpm 3.54 3.70 3.90 4.11
                (mph/1000rpm in 4th 1:1)

165SR13 886 19.1 18.3 17.4 16.5
185/70R13 898 18.9 18.1 17.1 16.3
195/60R14 894 19.0 18.1 17.2 16.3
195/50R15 918 18.5 17.7 16.8 15.9

regards

Terry

thanks terry - I'm running 185/65/14's at the moment, so that should drop
the revs slightly, so I am just wondering what my diff could be (just bought
the car not long ago, and was planning on changing to the 240K diff I have)
- maybe the diff I have in it is a different ratio, so I'll find out in the
next few weeks when I get some time - thanks for tin info anyway - chris
