Michael,

The 610 head lights are wired in much the same way as the 510 so i
do not expect that you will have any problems with the
instructions. P85 and P86 on the Bosch 30A relay have no polarity
so it shouldn't matter which wires from the existing inner head
light you connect. Having said that, i have seen some mini relays
occasionally turn themselves back on when they shouldn't so if
this happens you just swap the wires to P85 and P86 and problem
solved. I would suggest that you wire the inserts first even if
you don't actually fit them until later, as it makes it easier to
wire in the driving lights once the inners beams are not "hot" and
sealed beams will work the same way as a Cibie. When wiring up a
Datto in particular, I make sure the inner lights are operating as
expected before going on to stage two and wiring in the second
relay for the auxiliary drivers.

The good thing about wiring the drivers this way is you now have
your inner beams wired in a more conventional manner and therefore
it is easy to run a second relay for the drivers that everyone
understands. You run the high beam sense wire from P87 on relay
one to trigger relay two at P85, then connect an in line fused 12
volts supply from the battery or starter etc. to P30 (just like on
relay one), then from P86 on relay two run a wire to the inside of
the car to one side of a toggle or push/push switch. I prefer
push/push switches as you can get cute ones with a led indicator,
not that you would need to know that you have 300w of ac landers
on. The final step is to connect a wire from the other side of the
toggle switch to Earth. Again, if the drivers stay on when they
shouldn't, just swap the wires at P85 and P86 to reverse the
polarity on relay two.

Here's how it works:

Relay one.
When main light switch is ON, there will be power supplied from
the main light relay at a continuous 12v to P85
The main beam switch will earth P86 which will energize the coil
and trip the relay.
This will connect P30 to P87 & P87A and supply power from the
battery to the inner lights and then to earth.

Relay two.
With lights on high beam P87 on R1 will supply 12v to P85 on R2.
P86 will earth via the in car switch to energize the coil on R2
This will connect P30 to P87 & P87A in R2 and supply power from
the battery to the drivers and then to earth.

have fun with it,

regards
Terry

lights as well as upgrading the inners. The driving lights will
have a seperate relay, switch, etc. mainly for keeping the car
legal when not rallying. ie when I want high beams for driving
around the streetsi don't want to set pedestrians on fire.

colors, etc. for the 510 may be different to the 610, the
principles should be the same. Any additionalinformation that you
could provide though would be really appreciated.
