I thought the FJ was originally developed by Nissan for F1 (approx 1.5L capacity) but
due to the prohibitive cost of entering a factory team Nissan soon scraped the idea
with the FJ being detuned & stroked in its road going reincarnation.

Hey all,

I work with a guy who was telling me a few days ago that the Fj20 was
first used as a formula one engine, when it was the Fj24, running a 60psi
boost, this sounds a bit to crazy to me. Is this correct or is he just
wrong, I thought the engine was first used as the fj24 without a turbo,
then they re-did the bottom end to make it 2 litre and put the turbo on??

Anyone know what the full story is? thanks everyone, later

Tim
