terry, the reason I don't think it's bottom end is because it's more of a 
tapping noise.  I tried to use a pipe as a stethascope, but just couldn't 
make out where it's coming from.  Because of the noise, I don't want to 
drive it, so I couldn't tell you if it increases with revs.  I am taking it 
on friday to get it checked out at Brunswick Datsun because I don't know 
anyone personally with a datto, letalone in my area, trailoring it so I 
don't make whatever it is worse.  thanks anyway for your help.
