Yep, It appears that in 2 instances in the workshop manual that they call
the inlet and outlet (That's the one with the thermostat) and they call the
outlet an outlet...

Then I read teh page before that, and it shows a diagram of water flow
through the motor and it is definately the driver's side which is the inlet
to the motor...

You are correct in what you said, when looking at the motor the top right
hand
side is the top hose to the radiator  and the left bottom hose is the bottom
one, I have the S14 in my 1600 and that is the right way around
