Paddy,
If it's in vgc like low mileage it would probably handle a road car ok, but
I'd give it a couple of outings in competition before needing a serious
rebuild. Stumpy 5 speed or a dogleg are much stronger but like everything
these days you have to look around a bit for a good one.
