Is the S12 Gazelle the model that was sold locally in Oz?

I've fitted an in tank fuel pump from an s12 gazelle.  Feeds the FJ in full
swing no probs at all.  Pros:  Ultra quiet.  Neat install.  Saves space.
Cons : real low tank on hard corners can get some surge.    When I say real
low, guage reads a touch above 'E' - prolly less than 1/8 tank.  Initially
had some problems getting it to seal properly.

When pulling the pump from the original tank, it had a 4" round by 2 " high
little "cup" which the pump sat down into.  This must have provided for
surge, etc.  I'm thinking along the lines of lifting the fuel tank 2 " or so
and welding in a 2" lowered "bowl" for the pump to feed out of, so it always
feeds from the lowest part of the tank.  My spare wheel takes up all of my
wheel well so I can't use that.  But it's not critical, just something to
make it 'perfect' !

PS:  Fitting a Bosch blow-off and variable bleed boost tomorrow, will let
you know how it goes.  Virtually all of my gearbox problems are gone too,
changed the gearbox oil (used castrol VMX80) and it's totally amazing the
difference it makes.  Mind you, nothing like a rebuild.  However I've
recently found out that it's the selector rails which wear, contributing to
the problem.  So Mark at Stuart Wilkins Racing reckons don't worry about it
too much, heaps of FJ's do it esp on fast changes.  Also got rid of the
characteristsic timing chain rattle, instead of using the little cap on the
chain tensioner, replaced the tensioner completely with a mazda (!) unit.
Virtually identical, but it has a ratchet mechanism built in so when it
pumps up, it doesn't return.
