I knew you would ask me that, because I went to measure it and I couldn't find my slide caliper measurer thingy. It's about 3cm ish...  The bluebird one is about 2cm.   I shall check, but the one I got was about twice the weight as the old one. It looks pretty solid... I am doing a 8mm video of the things I have changed and I will grab it onto the PC an dsend you all the piccys so oyu can see how bodgy I did some things and how other things were done really goodly...   The bar I got looks similar shape the the bluebird one, except where it goes across the front of the sump, it bends downward and is about 2cm further forward, so it clears the sump by about 15mm forward, and bends under the join where the sump meets the block. It is a perfect fit. I had to drop the bluebird one while I plonkd the motor in, because if I left it there, I would have had to cut a diagonal line into the sump & block to make it fit.  I thort, no way am I doing that and I was really wishing at that point that I had a different sway bar... No problemmo...

You thinking of making a kit to stick SR20s into bluebirds?    Not a bad idea!!! I can give you a list of all the parts I've bought so far!!! :)

Nope, but the width between the two bolt holes was 102cm. I was also looking
at a pintara which had a wisth of 92cm, but then I measured the bluebird
ones on series 1,2 & 3 and they are all 102cm so I grabbed the one that was
102cm...  Not sure now that I think of it, whether it was a skyline or a
pintara, but one was too short and one was just right. anyhow, I fitted it
up and it was perfect. Only catch is that because it is a lot thicker than
the standard one, I had to use the rubbers off the skyline where it mounts
to the chassis.

Geordie,
Good find - did you happen to notice which model Skyline you got the bar
off?

After much fretting about how the the SR20 sump was sitting on top of the
sway bar in my bluebird, I was told by a few people to get the car towed to
a suspension place and have a new sway bar made for about $250 to $300.... I
thought, stuff that... Went to the wreckers yesterday and walla....
Discovered after about 15 minutes of measuring and re-measuring, that a
Skyline front sway bar is the perfect width, bend and thickness to suit my
application... Yaay... Even better, I helped the guy take it off the car and
he gave it to me for $35. Cheerin.  So if anybody out there wants to upgrade
the sway bar on their bluebird, then just go to your local wrecker and grab
one off a skyline...

This mumma weighed quite a bit more than the standard bluebird item, and was
quite a bit thicker too... Anyway, I stuck it on the car last night and it
clears the sump of the SR20 by about 2cm and is the perfect shape.. Solid as
a rock!!!!

Just thought you'd all like to know!!!!!
