Rhys, I have a 1200 coupe and had/have the same plans as you.
This is what I found/done...
The FJ20 is a very long engine..too hard...now fitting SR20 to replace my L18
The FJ20 is a cast steel block, very heavy, the car will be front heavy and
handle like a pig unless big $$$ are spent, the SR20 is all alloy
The FJ20 box is different to every box I have too including the SR20
I have a power steering pump and bracket to suit SR20 if any good to you
Cost of SR20 and 5 speed without black box was $750.00 (this is what I paid)
