It is definately NOT the engine.
Boost is standard
The motor runs perfectly until it comes on boost. No strange engine noises
either so it has to be ancillaries. My FJ has been seeing 8000rpm regularly
since the conversion (nearly three years ago now) and loves every bit of it.
I have a mate who holds his FJ20t at 8000rpm on the burnout pad and his
motor hasn't missed a beat. He tried for 8500rpm but it started valve
bouncing :). He is building another FJ20t now that he hopes to be able to
rev to 9500rpm. He beleives with custom pistons, rods, and valve springs
(everything else std) the motor will hold together fine.
