It's a 68!  Definitely grab it.  These were imports, the body id plate will show it was built in Japan (Osaka?) and the body panels are usually much better at resisting rust than the locally assembled later versions.  They also have the front cross member that gives better geometry for lowered front suspensions.

The dash will be the older looking one with the strip speedo. I think these look much better with a few extra guages and the crash pad recovered (as it will be cracked).  Later model dashes can be installed if you prefer them.  The grill, if original, is also much more solid and polishes well.

Ok Folks

I know nothing about the car i am about to buys engine.

All i know is it is a 2 Litre engine and it needed mod plates so any additional information would be greatly appreciated!

I am not planning on leaving this engine in for too long as I am keen to put an sr20/ca18 in to this little beast so if anyone is after the 2 Litre engine then it should be up for sale in a few months.

Does anyone from Brisbane perhaps know the car i am about to buy?/ it's a white 1968 1600 with red carpeted interior (looks schmick) and it's from Alderly in Brisbane. The owners name is Darryn and it was for sale in the latest trading post for $2300?????

Thanks

Mel
