Melb ozdaters,
Excellent response, I will try to answer some of the questions below:
Where do we get a copy of the sup regs?
I will post the contact details of the competition Secretary tomorrow. Then
you can either ring her for the paperwork or I can mail them out to you.
When do we have to pay up by?
It is first come first serve basis, if the event is over subscribed.
Otherwise before the event day.
Also what is involved in the driver training as my bro and I don't let any
one else drive our cars?
Fair enough too! Last year Driver Training involve a 30min lecture on the
track layout for all the novices. This was followed by a leisurely drive
around the track to the various corners for a further pep talk about how to
navigate the corners and to show apexes etc. Following this some follow the
leader laps were driven around the track at modest speed to further instil
the lectures. Instructors were also available at your request to sit in the
passenger seat and instruct you in the car (Read a chance for you to scare
them with your driving incompetence). Finally you had the option to let them
scare you in your own car with their driving skill.
Can I come PLEASE!!!!!!! I have being waiting for this for ages.
Cheers NAT
You can NAT you just need to be in a car club and have a CAMS licence.
Even rally cars, "grand father owned" 72 auto 1600 in bog stock trim,
starion turbos and postie vans are allowed if you want to bring it.
when is this NDSOC day???
See message below.

Subject: NDSOC Sandown driver training day.
Melb ozdaters,
I have just received my supplementory regs and entry form to the NDSOC
(Nissan Datsun Sports Owners Club) driver training day. I am hopeing to get
as many melb ozdaters on the track as I can.
When: Sunday November 5th, 2000 at sandown raceway.
Cost/requirements: $70 and a Cams basic licence (about $50 plus membership
to a car club).
This was the first event I did with my Datsun 1600 last year. In the morning
they have the driver training and in the arvo you get as much track time as
you like. It is open to cars of all type. They will take anyones money! You
do not need a purpose built racecar. I took a minorly modified 1600 last
year, only std L18, twin su's and 240K front suspension. Did 2min 2 sec all
day and about 100 laps. If you are interested contact NDSOC or I can
photocopy some entry forms.
I don't want to name names but:
Chris Peters we need a rematch after John Mott, get your dad to come along
too.
Ferel Errol, we have all seen the creations on the datrats site how about
bringing along one of your parts pickers. Sunny, bluebird wagon or pulsar
van. I like the sounds of the pulsar van ie old postie van!
Peter formosa bring the hillclimb special 1600 to whip our assess.
Colin gleeson, Cooper Brick or 1600?
Clough, Richard and Luke, You must have something to run in your
shed/backyard.
Jake/ turbo510, two months should be enough to finish the car.
JamesF, you started this by creating Ozdat, so your invited too.
Peter Parry, Dont know if your around on this list any more but bring up the
Geelong boys too.
If I have forgotten any other Melb ozdater then let me know. It will be a
good chance for us all to get together and have some off the list and on the
track fun.
Hope to hear from you all soon.
Regards
Trev
