    Nick,
I can get you a Gazelle rear axle assembly complete, you could probably get
one from a Datsun/Nissan wrecker in Sydney as well. The H190 LSD in a 4.875
or 5.1 ratio is harder to get, especially if you want an alloy pinion
    carrier.
    Cheers

Where can I find a Gazelle rear end? Are they those 180SX looking cars,
    they seem pretty rare.
I still would need a LSD centre though.
Are H190 LSD centres still available

    Thanks,
    Nick

    Nick/Errol,

I'm not sure how relevant this info is for a Stanza, but I have been
involved with a rear axle conversion on a Z18t powered Bluebird S1. The Z18
used to snap stock S1 axles like a twig, always same side and same place
(lhs about 4" from centre) so on some good advice we tried a Gazelle centre
and axles with a S3 TRX housing as we wanted to retain the TRX rear discs
that are 280mm and require 15" wheels. No more broken axles in more than 12
months running and a very cheap and clean conversion. There was some
    problem
with using the S1 housing with the Gazelle centre and likewise the Gazelle
housing on the S1, although I think the later was a more difficult TRX disc
conversion and I never gave the R31 a thought as a possible donor Do'h.

Another piece of useless information is that Gazelle ventilated discs are a
dead set bolt on the S1 Bluebird as we did that while we were trying to
figure the pros & cons of doing the diff conversion.

    Terry

    Nick,
    1.   No S3 TRX's are LSD's stock.
    2.  I think the $2500 id a pretty reasonable price for what you have said
but Budget racers would probably have to do it a bit differently!  A better
housing to use is the Gazelle (S110) H190 rear axle (stronger housing and
mounts are same as Stanza! Fitted with HR31 discs/calipers this will be
easier to keep within specs and will be a shit load cheaper.
    3.  The toe figure is measured at the front of tyre surface on a line
marked around the tyre centre line.. The toe is measured at the front of
the tyre tread centre as compared to the rear of the tyre tread centre
(using (580mm diam wheel tyre combination)
    Cheers
    Feral Errol

    Errol et. al.
I have got some quotes for a diff. conversion.
Bosjnak Engineering were the best, I thought, and wanted $2500 for new
housing, axle tubes, 4 pinion BTR LScentre,my choice of ratio, and VR
commodore calipers and discs. All new components, except for the discs.
This guy won't use second-hand parts, but those that will want at least
$900 in labour to shorten etc.. a Pintara/Skyline axle - and I would have
to supply the parts and hope they last.

That kind of money is more than I have spent on the car so I'd like to try
    using a Bluebird axle.
I have just done some quick measuring and the Stanza is ~1285mm backing
plate to backing plate, and the Bluey is 1313mm.
I know of two s3 Bluebird TRX's in my area that are available for wrecking
    Q1. Are all s3 TRX's LSD?
Q2. Do you think that this conversion will work? (obviously suspension
pickup points will have to be converted to Stanza spec.)
Note that body width at rear axle is qouted in the homologation papers as
1600mm, I can lip but not flare the guards.
Q3. I know that you (Errol) recommended 3/4 degree camber and 3mm toe for
the rear axle, but where do you measure the toe from, or what is the figure
    in degrees?
    Thankyou in advance
    Nick.
