When I was at the wreckers, I had a quick look at a R31 rear-end.
It looked to me like the caliper mounting plate was sandwiched between the
retaining plate and the disc backing plate (stone guard).
I.E. that you could just bolt the caliper mounting bracket onto the
axle-housing flange, with no welding, but I thought some filing of holes or
modification of offset of bracket etc...
What am I missing?
I'll buy all the bits and pieces and see what I can see
