Why not look for a cheap complete car, strip it, keep what you need and dump
the rest? Extra spares are always handy. Keep in labeled boxes for future
replacements. I use archive cardboard boxes stacked on top of each other.
Bodies cost nothing to take to a recycling dump. Try to find something with
a bit to offer e.g. a good 5 speed box/suspension/wheels/tyres/body
parts/electrical. Many people are just glad to see these bent or broken
cars out of their their place.
If you can borrow a tandem trailer you can pick up the car strip it and
deliver the shell to the tip in 24 hours - no wrecks in the yard.
Even cars costing a $1000 can have value if they are fitted with good bits
(eg ex rally cars).
