NAT, Familiar engine eh Brad, but I think it could have a 87.8mm bore and it will be 1889cc which an old favourite of ours for the L18 block. I think Brad was on the money, sounds like worn lash pads are the likely problem as your adjustment technique is perfect. I also know that power comes on at 3300rpm approx and finishes at 7200 rpm approx. I leave the car over nite before I adjust them so they are always cold and I set them with the lobe pointing up and then I loosen the lock nut slide the feeler gauge in between the rocker arm and the cam and then adjust the adjusting bolt until I obtain my clearence, and then keep the feeler gauge in there and I then tighten the locking nut and then check again with the feeler gauge until it is perfect,- I repeat this as many times until it is correct.The engine is about 4 yrs old, but I have no idea as to stats on the engine other then what I have already told you above, Sorry about that.
