Craig,
The problem is that seal on the pistons gets to close to the end of the
bore where there is less structural support and can cause cracking at high
fluid pressures. I checked the 300ZX caliper pistons and they are fully
contained at a disc thickness of 12mm (?some sort of safety margin there?)

Errol,
are there any problems with the distance the pistons move out? I ask
because I looked at the DBA catalog and Z32 300ZX minimum disc thickness
is 24mm. Verada discs being 24mm new. Usually the minimum disc thickness
is set so that the caliper pistons don't protrude out too far. I know
you probably checked this just wondered what you thought.
