The overhead gear are the recorders for the dreaded "ETag", a small device that is glued to the windscreen and beeps each time you go under the zapper.  This is the billing system. All cars are photoed.  Those that haven't paid get a rude letter. Yes, there are speed cameras in the tunnel.  Highest so far is 148kph.
