Julian,
I fitted an SR20 into a sunny coupe (same as Stanza!!!!!) with minimal
fabrication. I welded and gusseted a mount plate on the edge of the stock L
engine mount. I had to fabricate a new g/box X/member and panel beat the
tunnel where the speed cable comes out of the box.
If you go the SR20DET you will have extra costs for computer etc and
wiring. It all adds up!
Cheers
Feral Errol

Subject: SR20 -> 180B/200B/Stanza?
Date: Monday, October 09, 2000 5:10

After reading the Reuben's 200B Blown Sleeper Wagon page on the ozdat
website i have been wondering for ages about what has been said:

"Believe it or not, the engine and box bolted straight in with no
fabrication to the crossmember, sump, engine mounts, or gearbox mounts"

Now for the questions:

If this fits straight into a 200B then would it fit into the 180B (ie
are the engine mounts and gearbox mounts the same in the 180B)??

What about Stanza's?

Have any other people put SR's into a 200B/180B/stanza???

I was just really wondering about this now because I am considering
building a 180B SSS L-series turbo, and by the time you have bought the
turbo/manifold efi manifold and stuff it costs almost as much as a SR20t
and gearbox. So then for a few hundred more you have a newer motor and
gearbox which is made for a turbo.. If this bolts in it is just as
easy as a l-series turbo conversion..

And why don't more people do this conversion if it is so easy? (besides
the fact that it isn't a 1600?)

What are people's thoughts?

- Julian
