Wardy I have had my fuel tank modified before. What they do is spray some
very heavy duty degreaser into tank and let sit for a while to get into
all the seams ect. Then they pressure clean to get all residue out. Then
they flame test as in wave flame over opening to make sure no flamable
gas has been left. They silver solder all the fittings ect on Im unsure
how you would go welding > I think it would be best to get a radiator place
to do the work for you. Then its there head not yours if it goes boom. Andrew Mark Ward wrote: G'day List, what is the safest way to weld another portion of metal onto a petrol tank ? Some ideas I have are to steam clean the tank, or fill it with water while welding etc.. Ideas/suggestions ? I want to live until another day.... cya,Wardy --membersozdat------------------------------------------------------- OZDAT Mailing List Please Note:- Send (un)subscribe requests to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Send submissions to [EMAIL PROTECTED] No unauthorised redistribution of this email http://www.ozdat.com/ozdatonline/index.htm http://www.ozdat.com/ozdatonline/listindex.html http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ --------------------------------------------------------------------- |
