There was an article about this subject in hot4s (yes, a tech article in
hot4s!) I'll dig up the issue # if you like Linc. I think that the big
issue was legality- can be illegal for some (daft) reason so check with the
local authority first yadda yadda :)

I have braided brake lines on my rally car from the master cylinder to
the calipers. It does seem quite better than the steel & rubber lines
that were on there. The problem with the rubber lines is that they
soften over time so some new rubber lines can also improve the feel.
The main reason I used braided lines was I wanted to route the brake
lines inside the car & it was a pain trying to bend & fit the hard steel
tube round roll cage, seats etc.
I got my braided line from a speed shop & made them up to suit but there
are also quite a few standard ones available to suit most cars to
replace the existing rubber lines.
