A guy at work suggested to me once to install a wire that earths across the
contacts. The car will never start that way. If you use a plug connection simply
unplug to allow the car to run but plug it back in when you leave the car, a
thief isn't going to expect the car to run when you disconnect the wire but not
when it is connected! Also a multimeter will still reveal all the correct
voltages at the ignition switch plug!
