I have a friend of mine who has joy riders several times attempt to steal
his VH and haven't suceeded despite the fact the kill switch was actually
mounted right next to the radio in clear view. So they're not always that
smart. (how dumb do you have to be to go joy riding?) Often a deterant is
the best defence, because it's just extra effort required on the crook's
part when there's a car down the road with no protection he can steal.
However, keeping in mind, if a crook really wants your car, he will have it
no matter what you do, ie back up flatbed truck, pull car onto truck and
drive off.
