Mark,

Daniel Prior's 510 has an LZ24 with the 96mm Navara (Z24) crankshaft in it.
Not a small job, you need to grind some of the bottom end of the block and
from each crankshaft counterweight away, then re-balance the whole assembly.
The Z24 rods are heaps too big, the Z24 pistons might be useable if your
game to bore out 4mm

The results are pretty impressive though, with twin 48mm Webers his car
breaks through 100kw at the wheels, with a literal truck load of torque. Of
course the problem is, as with any long stroke motor, revs suffer: it's no
good above around 5500rpm apparently. If you could score some long rods (ie
Z20S, Z20E, late Z22E) revability would improve. Another factor is the poor
rod/stroke ratio results in faster wear of the bores- you would want the
tougher imported block (the Aussie ones are supposedly softer and wear
faster)

Check out http://home.att.net/~jason510/ben.htm for some more information on
the LZ24, and http://home.att.net/~jason510/Motorspecs.htm for some other
'frankenmotor' combinations.

One major advantage is the appearance- yes officer that's a L16 w/ twin
Webers :)

Subject: Z2.4 in L20B?

hi, is it possible to put the crank from a Z2.4 litre motor (navara) int a
L20B?
i am pretty sure that it can be done.....

if so does any one know how to go about it? do you need the z2.4 rods and
pistons as well?
