Damien,
I got the shoulder turned back & the existing threads lengthened on some
standard datsun ones & have had no problems with these on my rally car. The
only thing I have done is I now run two nuts on the front end to lock & also
share the load. I tried using a nylock nut but they have less thread length &
tended to strip when you hit a large holes on the inside of corners with the
front wheel.(I would think this would only be a problem on a rally car)
It should be possible for most machine shops to do this & I wouldn't think it
would be too expensive.
