I just made up some adjustable castor rods for my 1200 aswell. Pretty much
the same as what Richie did but i did it all myself. I just got out the old
grinder and used the linisher at work to get rid of the bulk of the metal
and then just used a die nut to cut in more thread. They work fine so far.
Only driven it once with the new front end so i couldnt tell u if its
reliable or safe!! It looks strong enough but the only place that it could
snap is were the thread ends and joins to the rod. I rang up a few
machinists and they didnt want anything to do with it. So thats why i hit
it with the grinder, and im glad i did!! All up cost, $15 for a new die
nut. A bit of paint and they look like new :)
