I have completed rewiring my lights, but as anticipated they do not work
perfectly. I followed the instructions from the wiring instructions at
www.turbovan.com/wiring.shtml but am having difficulties with the outer
beams and working out which prong is for earth, which for high beam filament
and which for low beam filament.
Following is the relevant section from the web page:
"The outer beam plug has 3 wires. One is for the low beam filament, one is
for the high beam filament, and one is common. The one wire which did not
run to the inners is the low beam, connect this to the switchover relay as
shown in the diagram. On my car the red wire with no trace was the ground
wire. You can identify this before you start by measuring which pin has
close to 0v with the headlights turned on. Connect the ground wire to a
good earth nearby. Connect the remaining wire to the switchover relay
output as shown in the diagram."
What I need to ascertain is which pin on both drivers and passenger outer
lights has 0v with the lights turned on, and which is the pin for the low
beam, ie does not run to the innser, then I can work out the high beam pin.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated, as my wiring was in a mess before
I started, I am unsure of which pin is which on the outer beams.
Thanks
Lachlan
