Well there are a few other things to consider with weight and thats the
weight of the pressure plate as well  .. those weights of the alloy and jap
performance Flywheels  don`t include the ring gear so you can add aprox 1kg
extra for that .. also when you are lighten a std flywheel there is far more
gain from taking the weight from the outside to improve engine response .. I
was looking at buying a alloy flywheel for a toyota motor   but managed to
get the same weight  with a lighten std fly wheel and the LIGHTER Smaller
pressure plate ..buy putting a smaller pressure plate with more clamping
pressure , you bring your weight closer to the center  which is a gain in
response without even removing weight ..  also because it is smaller you can
lighten the flywheel safely on the out diameter more . when i did  this to
the toyota flywheel  I ended up with the Flywheel inc ringgear and clutch
pressure plate and clutch plate  with a TOTAL Weight of 9 kgs ..  So the big
picture is the complete clutch and flywheel weight ..  Regards Cameron
