Lachlan,

Very rarely do you need to use the choke to start with twins or even a
single sidedraft unless you park it outside in sub zero temps like in
Canberra. A couple of pumps is enough to get things into life. I actually
have a choke cable hooked up but very rarely use it. I run my cable exactly
along the same route as the stock cable but as it's all metal I used a piece
of fuel line as an insulator across the corner of the rocker cover. There
are gentle curves in it this way, bit like an S but nothing that I would
call a bend that would kink the cable. Good quality aftermarket cables that
are all metal seem to be the best.

regards
Terry

Terry,
Thanks for the advice. The cable has to be bent to go through the fire wall
and then across to the other side of the motor where the carbies are
attached. It is not so much of a bend, but it is enough to make it nearly
impossible to pull the choke cable when both carbies are hooked up. I will
try it just on the front carbie and see how I go, do you think this wouuld
be enough to get the engine going?
Thanks
