get a  voltmeter and check voltage at ign side of ballast resister you should
get near  battery voltage,then check voltage  on coil side of balast resister ,
should be a few volts lower. then check voltage  at same position, but with
engine turning over, voltage then should be near batt volts or  a LITTLE  leess.
