Cost me NZ$2000, just for my short block ($1000 worth of forged pistons,
$1000
for rod bolts, bearings, machining, balancing, shot peening etc)

My head cost $320 for SS valves, $200 for a cam and refinished rocker arms,
and $200 for valve springs.

The porting work I did myself would cost at least another $1000 If I got
someone
else to do it.

Oh, and the raw engine itself cost me $100.

So there's $3820 already....

The main reason I upgraded to rear discs is to be able to use decent racing
pads.
