I'd advise you to look into this very carefully before you start.
Technically under the Australian National Guidelines the max capacity for a
1600 turbo is 2425cc and for a NA engine is 2910cc which the VG30 fails on
both accounts. This doesn't necessarily mean that it can't be done, just
it's a lot more hassle with engineering etc and if you are caught illegal
the penalties are a lot more severe if you are found to be over these
nominal limits.

Anyone had any experience fitting a VG30DET into a 1600. I am not asure on
the SA rego laws for this I will have to look into. but if anyone has done
this or has any infor this would be handy.

Also looking for a shell in SA suit project.
