Sorry ...I was mixing up mean effective pressure with BRAKE mean effective pressure ...that takes mechanical efficiency into account too, whereas MEF or indicated MEF doesn't. That's just a calculation taking into account the heat energy of the mixture, thermal efficiency and VE. So providing the configuration has some kind of mechanical advantage making it more efficient, the BMEP  would be different, you're right.

But BMEP is a measurement that takes into account bore and stroke and specially rod/stroke ratio and VE.
The BMEP for a 2l 4cyl and 2l 6cyl would be different

Torque is calculated from mean effective pressure (that being the average cylinder pressure at combustion) and capacity. The number of pistons and configuration would only effect this in as much as more efficient breathing might improve the MEF.
V6 or V8 engines would deliver a smoother torque output than a four though.
