The cage you have can not be used in a 'new' race car. It does not matter if the cage has been used before in a race car. If you were to put the cage in a car that is already covered by a CAMS logbook prior to December 1999 it would be OK.
Of course it is still worth something, anyone out there doing super sprints/track days or hillclimbs etc could certainly use it.
