Hey andrew how did you hook up your thermoswitch? did you do it like I did and 
fit it into a 3-bolt thermostat housing?
At the moment I have my fans wired straight to the battery so they go on  even 
when the engine is off. It is funny because they go one about 15-20 seconds 
after I get out of the car (heatsink I assume) and then run for about 30 
seconds or so. if I turn the engine back on while they are on they almost 
immediately turn off as the water pump starts pumping the cool water in the 
radiator through the block! which makes hard wiring them to the battery kind of 
pointless.. but I can see the advantage of one of those davies craig water 
pumps you could run it with the engine off and fans on.
