Greg, It would be a big job to fit the rigid axle to a 1600. The IRS has some advantages in a race situation and the live axle others. Camber and toe change is the biggest problem with IRS. The live axle is heavier and has more unsprung weight. This means it generally does not have the same road holding capacity in some hard cornering situations (eg if a bit bumpy)

Would this be a step backwards, getting rid of the irs? If anyone knows what would be involved, if it is possible, post some details. regards Greg --membersozdat------------------------------------------------------- OZDAT Mailing List Please Note:- Send (un)subscribe requests to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Send submissions to [EMAIL PROTECTED] No unauthorised redistribution of this email http://www.ozdat.com/ozdatonline/index.htm http://www.ozdat.com/ozdatonline/listindex.html http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------
