Greg,
It would be a big job to fit the rigid axle to a 1600. The IRS has some
advantages in a race situation and the live axle others. Camber and toe
change is the biggest problem with IRS. The live axle is heavier and has
more unsprung weight. This means it generally does not have the same road
holding capacity in some hard cornering situations (eg if a bit bumpy)

Cheers,
Feral Errol

Subject: stanza rear end

Hey guys
Would a stanza rear end, using bluebird axels, 10 bolt h190 diff and
bluebird disks bolt up to a 1600?? Would this be a step backwards, getting
rid of the irs? If anyone knows what would be involved, if it is possible,
post some details.

regards Greg
