Has any one converted an "East West SR20" to run North South?
 
I have been looking at a 20K kms SR20DE V V L out of a Jap Pulsar{?} and I would love to convert it to run "North South", but it has the Dizzy mounted on the "rear" of the LH cam.  What bits are is needed to convert it to run on a crank fired coil system like a Silvia?  I note It would also need the inlet manifold reversed also, unless the air intaake is fitted inside the car.
 
What sort of $$$ to buy and convert?  Also what are S14/5 gearboxes worth?

List,  for those who run distributors.
 
I run the factory computer and as you =now the ignition is completely stand alone.  My Z18ET dizzy is shot and =arts are unobtainable.  I always wanted coils packs, needed more advance and =basically wanted to get that dizzy out of my engine bay. 
    First I built the =igh energy side of things.  This is basically a copy of the High Energy =gnition kit available from Jaycar Electronics except that it contains electronics to =ontrol TWO coils.  Then I installed this on the car and used the =istributor module to fire one side of my HEI and thus the original coil and =izzy.  After a couple of weeks I then swapped to the other side of the HEI to =heck that half of the circuit.  Then I could be sure that when I =onnected two coil packs later down the track both would be sure to work.
    Secondly I bought =nd built the Programmable Ignition Timing kit from Jaycar Electronics.  I =nstalled this on the engine as outlined in the kit instructions.  This made a =uge difference to performance (my dizzy had a max of 7deg advance and no =acuum advance).  But the dizzy was still being used for a trigger source =nd spark distribution. 
    Thirdly I designed =nd built a mount carrying a hall effect sensor and mounted it behind the front pulley.  Then I removed the front pulley drilled two holes 180deg =part and glued magnets into the holes.
    Fourthly I designed =nd built a circuit which produces two distinct 'logic' pulse for each magnet.  = was then able two run the car off the dizzy but look at the waveform created =y the hall effect sensor to check that the timing of these events were =ccurate.  Then I was able to design and build a circuit using a microprocessor =hich basically divides the output of the PIT (coil trigger) into two.ie two coils.
    Fifth, now I have =RANK TRIGGERED, PROGRAMMABLE, HIGH ENERGY WASTE SPARK COIL PACK ignition system.
    Now I am developing =ll this into a saleable kit.  I plan to be able to provide;HEI unit (my =esign, dual coils), Jaycar PIT, hall sensor, coil trigger unit (my design), =oils packs, wiring kit and detailed instructions.
